Back in 2019, before the world changed forever, my family took a trip to Brazil. We are not world travelers but wanted a chance to unmask another culture for our children and experience the wonders of the Amazon River. Our guide, Sam, was the most fascinating, warm, wise person I have ever met. And he possessed Amazon “street smarts,” which kept us safe from harm.
